![]() The Steam Deck runs on Linux and uses the Proton compatibility layer to run Windows apps and games. Windows is your friend here, any games that run on your PC will run on the Ally (within its specification limit). ![]() If there are, I haven't experienced them yet. Other devices like the upcoming Ayaneo 2S and OneXPlayer 2 are similarly impressive in terms of tech specs, but can cost up to $1000. A key difference here is that the cheapest Steam Deck has the same internals and costs $399. The main rival device is the Steam Deck, which comes in at $649 for the top unit (it was also briefly on sale for $584.10 recently). Obviously we know the price now and it is competitive at $699.99 for the top model. The answer to both would indicate if Asus was a competitor with the Steam Deck, or it would join the ranks of other, vastly more expensive, handheld gaming PCs. Janhoi McGregorīefore the ROG Ally launched there were two giant questions that needed to be answered: battery life and price. There are very few (if any) business owners like Mike Rose these days, and we feel very fortunate to have found him.The Steam Deck and Ally Rog side by side. ![]() Most importantly, Mike did not consider the project done until we were completely satisfied with his results of his work. He does not cut corners, make false promises, or commit to things he can’t do….and if the job requires him to spend more time to get you the perfect result, he does it with a positive attitude and without charging a single extra cent. ![]() Needless to say, the rolling screen now works flawlessly and we couldn’t be happier with Mike’s work! From start to finish we were in awe of Mike’s commitment to the project his perseverance and attention to detail are both unrivaled and very rare in today’s times. Because of the complexity of the system and the custom parts required, Mike spent nearly two full days working on the issue at our home, and that doesn’t include the time he spent researching the issue on his own, dealing numerous times with the manufacturer, and ordering (and re-ordering) the needed specialty parts. We have a complicated rolling screen mechanism that unexpectedly broke, and Mike thankfully agreed to take on the project (at least three other people we called wouldn’t). Mike Rose deserves 10 stars!!! If you are looking for a true professional to tackle your screen project or issue who does what he says he is going to do at the exact price quoted, look no further than Mike Rose and Maryland Screens. I will definitely call Maryland Screens for jobs in the future. Mike was generous with his time, his suggestions, and his knowledge. Then he allowed me to ask about another project we have in mind. He asked questions about our preferences regarding the door and proceeded to do the installation the way it should have been done initially. Our installer, Mike, is also the owner of Maryland Screens. Heather was very good about communicating with us. Once we decided on a solution, she gave us a reasonable estimate and an accurate delivery/installation timeframe. I called Heather at Maryland Screens, and she presented us with practical options. Several tradespeople had tried unsuccessfully to remedy the issues, and we had become very frustrated. ![]() Prior to finding this business, we endured a couple years of struggle with our home’s builder and four failed screen door handle/latch installations. I couldn’t be more pleased with the efficient, considerate, and professional service we received from Maryland Screens. ![]()
